Before You Start

To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:

  • DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
  • Aha User Role: Admin

Create an OAuth App

  1. Log in to Aha.
  2. In the settings drop down menu, navigate to Personal.
  3. From the side bar menu, navigate to Developer.
  4. Under the OAuth applications tab, select Register OAuth application and enter a name.
  5. Enter the following for the Redirect URI: https://datagrail.io/oauth/aha.
  6. Select Create.
  7. On the final screen, copy the values listed under Client ID as well as Client Secret and store them in a secure, temporary location.

Gather Subdomain and Portal IDs

  1. While logged in to Aha!, in the address bar of your browser, take note of your subdomain.
  2. In the settings drop down menu, navigate to Account.
  3. From the side bar menu, under the Customizations sub-header, navigate to Configure Portals.
  4. For each Idea Portal in the list:
Details
  1. Select the Portal Name to navigate to that portal's settings page.
  2. In the browser address bar, copy the Portal ID.
  3. Save each Portal ID in a comma-separated list.
  4. Repeat this process for all Portals associated with the Aha account.
Collecting Portal IDs

Aha! does not currently support an automated way for DataGrail to collect these Portal IDs on your behalf. If you add any new Idea Portals to your Aha! account, you should repeat these instructions to allow DataGrail to collect all the necessary data for privacy requests. If you have a large number of portals, it's recommended you reach out to Aha! support and request a list of your Portal IDs instead of collecting them manually.

Connect to DataGrail

  1. In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Aha.
  2. Enter the Client ID, Client Secret, Subdomain and the list of Portal IDs.
  3. Select Configure Integration.

Next Steps

Now that you've successfully connected the integration, check out the following resources:

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:

Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources

DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.

Review Required Account Types and User Roles

If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.

See Before You Start to review these requirements.
