Before You Start
To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:
- DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
- AnswerHub User Role: Org Admin
Initial setup
- Log in to AnswerHub.
- Create a new AnswerHub user for DataGrail. This should be distinct from your personal account to prevent any issues with the connection.
- Enable API Access: Enable the Rest API In AnswerHub
- Grant API use to the relevant user account: Grant API Use Permission to User
- Enable the GDPR plugin under Plugins and GDPR Compliance Kit. For additional details: Enable GDPR Plugin in AnswerHub
- Ensure the required permissions have been enabled: AnswerHub Permissions List
Required permissions
- Create user
- Edit any profile / edit own profile
- Edit any profile details (name, location, password, etc.)
- Edit own profile details (name, location, password, etc.)
- View the questions list
- View answers in the question page
- View analytics
- View user's profile
- Follow questions, users, topics, and categories
- Edit users and groups
- Suspend user
Connect to DataGrail
- In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for AnswerHub.
- Enter the Username and Password.
- Select Configure Integration.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:
Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources
DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.
Review Required Account Types and User Roles
If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
