Integrating Cvent
Capabilities
DataGrail's Cvent integration provides the following capabilities:

Before You Start
To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:
- DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
- Cvent User Role: Admin
Create Cvent Workspace
- Log in to Cvent.
- Navigate to the Admin section.
- Under the Integrations tab, select REST API. You will be redirected to your API Platform.
- At the top of the page, select Access Management.
- Select Create Workspace.
- Enter a name for the workspace and select the following permissions:

- Select Save
- Navigate to the Developers tab.
- Find the Developer to add to the new workspace, and select their pencil icon.
- Find the new workspace and select Add, then Close..
Create Cvent Credentials
- Log in to the Cvent Developer Portal.
- Navigate to Applications, then select the newly created Workspace.
- Select Create Application, and enter the following configuration:
Application Configuration
Application type: Machine to Machine
Application name: datagrail_integration (it can be anything you want)
Scopes:
appointments/appointment-attendees:readappointments/appointments:readevent/attendees:readevent/attendee-activities:readevent/attendee-links:readevent/contacts:readevent/events:readevent/speakers:readexhibitor/exhibitors:readexhibitor/leads:read
- Navigate back to Applications.
- Find the newly created Application and copy the Client ID and Client Secret. Store them in a secure, temporary location.
Connect to DataGrail
- In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Cvent.
- Enter the Client ID, Client Secret and Region.
- Select Configure Integration.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:
Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources
DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.
Review Required Account Types and User Roles
If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
