Integrating Gainsight
Capabilities
DataGrail's Gainsight integration provides the following capabilities:

Before You Start
To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:
- DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
- Gainsight User Role: Admin
Create Gainsight Access Key
- Log in to Gainsight.
- In the left dashboard panel, select Connectors 2.0.
- Navigate to the Connectors tab, and select Gainsight API Connections.
- Select the Create Connection gear icon, or the Edit Connection pencil icon.
- Generate and copy the Access Key. Store it in a secure, temporary location.

How to find or setup a Gainsight Domain
A Gainsight Domain is required to manage companywide communication preferences.
To find an existing Gainsight Domain,
- Navigate to Administration.
- Under General, select Domains.
- Copy the Domain.
To setup a Gainsight Domain, see these instructions.
Connect to DataGrail
- In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Gainsight.
- Enter the Access Key, and if applicable the Domain.
- Select Configure Integration.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:
Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources
DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.
Review Required Account Types and User Roles
If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
