Integrating Greenhouse

Capabilities

DataGrail's Greenhouse integration provides the following capabilities:

Before You Start

To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:

• DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
• Greenhouse User Role: Site Admin

Create a Greenhouse OAuth Credential

1. Log in to Greenhouse.
2. Select the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Select Dev Center and API Credential Management.
4. Select Create new credential and choose Harvest V3 (OAuth) as the API type.
5. Select Manage permissions and select the required scopes for DataGrail:

Required Scopes

• harvest:candidates:list
• harvest:candidates:update
• harvest:candidates:destroy
• harvest:applications:list

6. Select Save, and then copy the Client ID and Client Secret and store them in a secure location.
7. (Optional) Identify the numeric Site Admin User ID DataGrail should act on behalf of when processing deletion requests:

Finding a Site Admin User ID

This field is optional. If left blank, Greenhouse defaults to an auto-generated service account user attached to your credentials.

To find a Site Admin's numeric user ID, navigate to Configure and then Users, select the applicable Site Admin, and copy the numeric ID from the user's profile URL.

Connect to DataGrail

1. In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Greenhouse.
2. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret.
3. Enter the Site Admin User ID, if applicable.
4. Select Configure Integration.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:

Ensure the Site Admin User ID belongs to a Site Admin

For auditing purposes, Greenhouse restricts deletion to the Site Admin user role. If the Site Admin User ID entered does not belong to a user with Site Admin permissions in Greenhouse, the integration will be unable to process deletion requests.

I received an authentication error when testing the connection

Verify the following:

• Your Client ID and Client Secret are correct and match the credential you created in Greenhouse.
• The credential has been granted all four required scopes: harvest:candidates:list, harvest:candidates:update, harvest:candidates:destroy, and harvest:applications:list.
• Your Site Admin User ID, if entered, is a valid numeric user ID with Site Admin permissions in Greenhouse.

Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources

DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.

Review Required Account Types and User Roles

If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
