Integrating Koala

DataGrail’s Koala Integration provides data mapping and privacy request functionality allowing your business to do the following:

  • Identify Data Subject PII stored in Koala for automatic fulfillment of privacy requests.
  • Delete Data Subject PII stored in Koala for automatic fulfillment of privacy requests.
note

If you do not have admin rights in Koala you will not be able to complete this integration. Please contact your Koala Admin for assistance.

Step 1: Get Koala API Key

  1. Log in to Koala Dashboard with your account.
  2. Go to Settings -> API Keys.
  3. Click on the Create private key button.
  4. Set key name and click on the Create key button.
  5. Copy your API Key and store it securely.

Step 2: Connect Koala

  1. Log in to DataGrail.
  2. Click the Configure New Integration within the Integration page and search for Koala.
  3. Select your desired Asynchronous Deletion Behavior.
  • Mark integration as complete when a deletion request is successfully submitted: The Koala Integration will be marked as "complete" as soon as the deletion request is submitted to Koala.
  • Continue processing until the deletion request is completed (default behavior): The Koala Integration will show a "processing" status until the Koala deletion is complete.
  1. Click the Configure button.
  2. Enter integration name (e.g. Koala).
  3. Enable required capabilities. See Connecting Integrations to DataGrail
  4. Optionally, enable Direct Contact for access and fill the Direct Contact Settings form to configure the Direct Contact process: See Direct Contact Integration Explained
  5. Enter the API Key obtained from Step 1.
  6. Click the Configure Integration button.
  7. If you have additional Koala accounts to integrate, repeat the steps above.
  8. In DataGrail, if you have any other integrations not connected please click Connect to complete the configuration and reference the View Connection Instructions link for instructions
