Integrating Optimizely

DataGrail’s Optimizely Integration provides data mapping and privacy request functionality allowing your business to do the following:

  • Identify Data Subject PII stored in Optimizely for automatic fulfillment of privacy requests.
  • Delete Data Subject PII stored in Optimizely for automatic fulfillment of privacy requests.

If you do not have admin rights in Optimizely you will not be able to complete this integration. Please contact your Optimizely Admin for assistance.

Step 1: Setup Optimizely OAuth Application.

  1. Log in to Optimizely application with your account.
  2. Click on Account Setting in the left side menu.
  3. Select Registered Apps and click on the Register New Application.
  4. Fill Application Settings form and click Apply button:
  • Application name, e.g. DataGrail.
  • Redirect URI: https://datagrail.io/oauth/optimizely
  • Client Type: Confidential.
  1. Copy Client ID and Client Secret and store them securely.

Step 2: Connect Optimizely

  1. Log in to DataGrail.
  2. Click the Configure New Integration within the Integration page and search for Optimizely.
  3. Click the Configure button.
  4. Enter integration name (e.g. Optimizely).
  5. Enable required capabilities. See Connecting Integrations to DataGrail
  6. Optionally, enable Direct Contact for an access and/or deletion and fill the Direct Contact Settings form to configure the Direct Contact process: See Direct Contact Integration Explained
  7. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret obtained from Step 1.
  8. Select your desired Asynchronous Deletion Behavior.
  • Mark integration as complete when a deletion request is successfully submitted: The Optimizely Integration will be marked as "complete" as soon as the deletion request is submitted to Optimizely.
  • Continue processing until the deletion request is completed (default behavior): The Optimizely Integration will show a "processing" status until the Optimizely deletion is complete.
  1. Click the Login to Configure button.
  2. Once you click, you will be redirected to the Optimizely, which will prompt you to authorize the DataGrail integration.

You may have to log in to your Optimizely account if you are not logged in already.

  1. Click Allow to authorize DataGrail with required API scopes. See details in API Integration Documentation.
  2. After successful authorization you will be redirected back to DataGrail.
  3. If you have additional Optimizely accounts to integrate, repeat the steps above.
  4. In DataGrail, if you have any other integrations not connected please click Connect to complete the configuration and reference the View Connection Instructions link for instructions
