Integrating Shopify System Detection
Capabilities
DataGrail's Shopify System Detection integration provides the following capabilities:

Before You Start
To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:
- DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
- Shopify System Detection User Role: Shopify Store Owner
Get Shopify Shop Name
- Log in to your Shopify Store's Dashboard.
- Locate your Shop Name, which can be found in your Shopify URL, formatted
shopname.myshopify.com- If your Shopify URL is
datagrail.shopify.com, your shop name will bedatagrail
- If your Shopify URL is
Create Shopify OAuth Application
- Log in to your Shopify Store's Dashboard.
- Select Apps from the left-hand menu and then select App Settings.
- Select Develop Apps and then select Build apps in Dev Dashboard.
- Select Create app.
- Enter an App Name and then select Create.
- Set the Redirect URL to
https://datagrail.io/oauth/shopify_system_detection - Add the required
read_appsscopes for the DataGrail integration.
The read_apps scope may be not avaliable for application. In that case, please contact Shopify support and ask them to activate read_apps scope for your account.
- Select Release.
- Select Settings for the new application.
- Copy the Client ID and Client Secret. Store these credentials in a secure, temporary location.
Connect to DataGrail
- In DataGrail, navigate to Integrations and select Configure New Integration to search for Shopify System Detection.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret.
- Enter your Shop Name.
- Select Configure Integration and authorize the
read_appspermissions to DataGrail in the Shopify.

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:
Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources
DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.
Review Required Account Types and User Roles
If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.
