Before You Start

To successfully configure this integration, please ensure you have sufficient privileges:

  • DataGrail User Role: Super Admin, Connections Manager
  • Stripe User Role: Admin

Create Stripe API Key

  1. Navigate to your Stripe Dashboard.

  2. In the top right, select Developers.

  3. Select API Keys and then Create restricted key.

  4. When prompted with How will you be using this key?, select Powering an integration you built.

  5. When prompted with Choose a permission template, select Choose your own.

  6. Enter DataGrail for the key name.

  7. Set the permissions listed below. The Create restricted key page lists each resource under a Resource Type column with two sets of toggles: Permissions and Connect Permissions. Set the values in the Permissions column only, and leave every Connect Permissions row set to None.

    Finding Resources

Stripe groups and labels resources on this page. If you can't find a resource by name, use your browser's find (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) to locate it, and check the group headings (such as Billing, Issuing, or Connect).

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to successfully connect the integration, review these common troubleshooting steps:

Ensure Required Permissions Are Granted on API Keys/Resources

DataGrail checks required permissions and scopes on API keys/resources used by each integration. If all necessary permissions are not granted, new connections will fail.

Review Required Account Types and User Roles

If users do not have the necessary permissions or the minimum required user role in the connecting system, the connection to DataGrail will fail. Additionally, connections will fail if your account type does not match the one required by the integration.

See Before You Start to review these requirements.

Technical Details

The Stripe integration uses the Stripe V1 API:
